I’m an English freelance filmmaker currently based in Bali, Indonesia. I graduated from Plymouth University with BA (Hons) in Media Arts and have been developing my craft ever since.
I primarily enjoy documentary filmmaking as I have always found it challenging and it pushes me into unknown situations. I like working with natural light and real-time events where you have to be one step ahead to make sure you get everything you need. I'm typically a run and gun style videographer, being self sufficient on the move.
I created Pres Ban Productions as an outlet to share creative projects, whether personal or for clients, and a platform in which to collaborate with other like minded filmmakers and artists.
I am also a musician and find that this lends well to the filmmaking process. To me, the audio/visual relationship is crucial in telling a compelling story.
I feel grateful to be living in Asia and I'm constantly in awe of my surroundings of rich culture and beauty. It's a cinematic landscape and I never leave my house without taking my camera.
I've curated a short list of projects on this page to outline my experiences as a filmmaker. Below is a showreel of my most recent work.
I've worked on several surfing films with renowned director and producer Taylor Steele as videographer, master timeline editor and music composer.
The world of surfing in a single 24-hour period: May 2, 2012. From Kelly Slater and Stephanie Gilmore to Dave Rastovich, Ozzy Wright and Alex Knost, this project brings together shapers, photographers, legends, beginners, third world, first world and surf world.
Six filmmakers were sent to explore a different type of surf travel, from motorbike journeys to rock tours to camping trips. Six filmmakers. Six countries. Seven Signs.
